Cycling for Cameron

During the summer break James Turner, son Hugo and Geoff Smailes ventured to the Continent with their bikes to fly the flag for the Cameron Bespolka Trust

James and Geoff were taking part in the “Tour des Stations” Gran Fondo in Valais, Switzerland, which covers 140km and about 4,500m of climbing between Crans-Montana and Verbier. The pair are no strangers to steep gradients, having completed the gruelling six day epic Coast to Coast trip across the Pyrenees in aid of the Trust in 2017.

The Tour des Stations did little to dampen their enthuisasm or dent their fitness and ten days later James was accompanying his son Hugo up the infamous Mount Ventoux. Hugo tackled the climb three times in a day equalling almost exactly the distance and elevation that James and Geoff had achieved in the Gran Fondo. Chappeau!

Fast fit family
While the men were griding their up the mountain, Franca Turner was pounding the steep roads in the south of France in search of fitness ahead of her particpation in the Berlin Marathon and the end of September. No time for a relaxing holiday in the Turner household!
