Mosaic Artist

Talented artist, Joanna Dewfall, has provided a stunning image for the Trust's latest card

Joanna originally attained a BA in Fine Art from Winchester School of Art and from there became involved with community art projects in Bristol eventually using mosaic as a medium rather than paint. This work informed Joanna's strong belief and enjoyment of working with young people and adults of all abilities to make large scale resiliant artworks.  Joanna also designs and produces private and public commissions. Mosaic is a powerful medium for creating legacy artworks.

Originally from Exmoor, Joanna has always found the natural world to be very important; she believes it is vital to represent indigenous plants and creatures truthfully in her work. The RSPB has a reserve in Joanna's village and she is lucky enough to work there a day a week.  This has given her a deep respect for their conservation ethos as well as increasing her knowlege of, in particular the beautiful and important Chalk Grassland of Salisbury Plain.
