I am so pleased to be part of this amazing charity. My family and I have been good friends with the Bespolkas for many years now and so knew and loved Cameron, as did everyone who met him.

When I started to help out with the Trust, little did I know how much it would mean to me. My first task was to try and source scented candles, something which would be lovely to have, would make a great gift, and was a beautiful way to remember and think of Cameron. It could not be more fitting to have added the beautiful Great Grey Shrike, a poignant painting by a very talented young artist, Lucy Neish, to all of our range of products, including tea towels and notecards.

Going forward, we have added more to our Shop and are just so pleased by the overwhelming support we have received. We offer ethically sourced items, recylced paper and wood and eco friendly print where ever possible. All this helps us spread the word of the charity. Take a look at our cards and wrapping paper which have been printed on 100% recycled, FSC registered card and paper. And both are recyclable which is hard to find. The design of the Robin was adapted by Joachim McDonald from a photo taken by Cameron. You can now write your cards and wrap your presents guilt-free.

And what better gift for Christmas, then offering wildlife a home? Our Bird houses, Hedgehog homes and Bug boxes have been created by a local charity, Minstead Trust who we are working with and who use recycled slate tiles and wood.

And always mindful of our planet, we continue to look for ways to reduce our use of plastic. We love these new collapsible cups for your hot and cold drinks which will easily fit into your bag or pocket. They are simple to use and so handy!

At the heart of everything we do, we have Cameron in mind and his love of nature and especially birds. 100% of the money we raise from selling our merchandise, goes directly towards the Trust so we can continue to connect children and teenagers with wildlife and nature and the exciting task of renovating Cameron’s Cottage. I really do feel that this cottage will encapsulate everything that the Trust stands for - encouraging children outside, listening to birdsong and falling in love with all things that were so important to Cameron.

Renovations have started on Cameron’s Cottage in RSPB reserve, New Forest, Hampshire.

I have a particular interest these days in mindfulness and well-being to keep in good mental health in a crazy, stressful world… Never before has it seemed so important for children to connect with something other than social media and what better way to do this than by encouraging them outside to breathe and see all that is around them – and to work to keep it safe.

“Nature needs children and children need nature”
