Berlin Marathon Report

Berlin Marathon
Sunday 29th September

We made it!

Sixteen runners took to the start line and sixteen runners completed the full 42 km distance. Niggling injuries and torrential downpours could not dent the resolve of Team Running for Cameron.

To our generous donors we say a huge 'Thank you'. Your generosity has been overwhelming. It gave us the motivation to keep training through the highs and lows and fired us up to complete the marathon as fast as our legs could carry us. We are deeply touched by the staggering amount raised. It has by far exceeded our wildest hopes and expectations. The total was an unbelievable £65,000. Your generosity has helped us raise this phenomenal amount and we are so very, very grateful.

Thank you for helping us create a base for children to be immersed in nature. Cameron's Cottage and the Field Study center will help inspire many generations to come. And thank you to the RSPB who work tirelessly to stand up for wildlife and nature.

If you haven't already seen the video made by our young ambassador Amy Hall please take a moment to view it. It shows the beauty of the cottage and our ambition for the project.

We could not be more proud and grateful to all our runners and all our supporters who came out to Berlin with us. Our supporters were the real stars hollering encouragement in the pouring rain at multiple vantage points along the way.

Please have a look at some of the photos from this special, memorable day.

We have subsequently often been asked if we would run another marathon… most of us said yes very quickly!  Twelve of us got a personal best time in Berlin which is really wonderful statistic.

Thank you again for your generosity,  support and encouragement to our dynamic Running for Cameron team. We couldn’t have done it without you.

With best wishes from Team Running for Cameron,

Corinne, Carl, Catherine, Christopher, Clare, Franca, Harriet, Hugo, James, Jonathan, Lars, Natasha, Nils, Paul, Rupert and Simon
