2019 - What a year!

“In the end, it’s not the years in your life that count, it’s the life in your years.” - Abraham Lincoln

As this year comes to a close, it’s incredible to see how much has been done, with so many friends and supporters helping us achieve new heights.

Below are some of the things we have achieved in 2019. But there are two achievements and highlights that stand out: Cameron's Cottage and Young Ambassadors.

Cameron's Cottage: Getting Planning Permission for Cameron’s Cottage has been a huge personal achievement. It has been such a pleasure to work with RSPB, who have been dedicated and instrumental in making this happen. I can't wait for renovation work to start in spring 2020.

Young Ambassadors: I am so proud of our Young Ambassador programme. These dedicated young naturalists support us and stand up for wildlife and conservation. Our goal for 2020 is to implement new ideas and increase support to help them reach more young people.

Ambassadors
Website: Our website is always up-to-date with our latest news. Have a look at our brand new section for young naturalists and how they can get involved. It includes many camps, free membership as well as a scholarship to a Cornell ornithological event.

Thank you for an incredible year

Berlin Marathon: I couldn’t end without a huge thank you to Team Running for Cameron in Berlin and all the supporters who came out with us. Plus the hundreds and hundreds of supporters who donated and spurred us on and became part of our mission. We are incredibly grateful to you all.

Royal Parks Half Marathon: Looking for a challenge in 2020? Look no further than running for us in the Royal Parks Half Marathon on 11th October. But be quick, we only have a few spots for this incredibly well-supported and iconic challenge.

Top tips for helping wildlife this winter:
  • put bird food out, especially suet which is high in fat
  • fresh water. Don’t forget a bowl on the ground for hedgehogs
  • create piles of leaves where insects and hedgehogs can shelter
  • put up wildlife homes to give birds/hedgehogs/insects a home to keep warm
We continue to be overwhelmed and grateful for the support, kindness, thoughtfulness and friendship.  #forCameronalways

With much love from all of us,
Corinne
